Now party planning gets really exciting! Ariel the Little Mermaid is a very popular character and makes a great party theme. Little Mermaid theme has the most beautiful vibrant color combinations opening a world of possibilities when deciding on a color scheme. One of our favorite things about birthday parties are the favors. There are a variety of things to choose from and it can be as simple or as detailed as you want. Your imagination is the limit!
When I had my daughter’s 1st birthday I picked the Ariel the Little Mermaid theme. And, because it was her very first birthday I went all out. Back then (my daughter is now 15) there weren’t all these cool things you find today, so I decided to make my own favors. I’ll share with you what I did although today there are so many wonderful things to pick from that the possibilities are endless.
Before you start buying supplies for your Ariel the Little Mermaid party, think about the following:
1. Ages of guests - Are they 3 to 6 year olds or do they range from 2 thru 12?
2. Gender - Are they all girls or will you invite both boys and girls
3. Number of Guests – Are you inviting 5 or six children or is the whole school coming, which brings us to our next thought.
4. Budget – How much do you want to spend? I like to think of it per child. If you have 30 children coming then I find its more inexpensive to buy in bulk and put it together myself. For example: If you live near a beach you could pick up shells and buy a bag of mixed candy and place a little of each (rinse the shells) in a see-thru bag and tie it with some rope. You can also buy a bag of colored shells and perhaps if you have leftovers you can use them as a craft like gluing them on a picture frame or a jewelry box.
Here's a fun and inexpensive Little Mermaid party favor bag that is easy to make and cost pennies to make.
