Aren't these party favors lovely?
You would not believe how easy it is to make these! These "Gown" favors are just the right size for party favors. These satin favor bags measure 5" X 7" (12.7 cm x 17.8 cm) however because we fold the top in, the fillable area is slightly less. Once completed these party favors measure approximately 8 to 8 1/2 inches (20.3 to 21.6 cm) in height, depending on the princess and the size of your princess cutout.
What's great about these princess favors is that you can make them larger or smaller by buying different size favor bags and resizing your princess printable picture.
If you want to use them as party decorations, fill them with rice or flour. You get a smoother look by placing the rice/flour in a cellophane or plastic bag first and then putting the bag inside the satin pouch. You can build a centerpiece along your table by cutting sheet moss (what we used in the group picture above) into an elongated snake shape, making a "path", then place the princesses along the path. While sheet moss looks beautiful, it is somewhat pricey. Another way to achieve a similar look is by using green tissue festooning (picture below) or crepe paper streamers which cost relatively less than moss.
Ok, first I would like to share that I have been buying "festooning" for years, only I called it fringed crepe paper streamers. Apparently crepe paper streamer is the smooth one and festooning is the fringed one...go figure! Now that I have cleared that up (for myself), unroll the festooning and fold in half and then half again so that you have a nice width to work with. Shape into desired look (we did a wavy shape above) along your table. Secure festooning to the table/tablecloth with double-sided tape.
Festooning usually comes in a roll and packaged individually. You can find festooning at most party stores, or you can get it here. Have fun!
